I often wish there was a group of people hanging out in a chatroom somewhere, all of whom would be obsessed with making awesome sofware of some sort or another, and everyone would be amazing djs or at least be into some sort of awesome electronica.

I kept having "I wish there was..." moments --ideas for tools or apps I wanted but couldn't find.

I wish there was a better way to share these over a team but I haven't taken that time yet.

Sometimes, I wish there was an agreed standard for every UI - to have only the core, commonly used keys pre-set, while making everything else configurable.

I wish there was a way that your comment could be pinned.

And the huge gains we would see in open source where "man I wish there was a tool that could…" becomes "I'm gonna make a tool that…" So personally I think it's just a continuation of the belt tightening that was and still is occurring across the economy.

I wish there was a site that would be designed for hopeful expats that would connect them with jobs from employers in other countries that hire foreign workers.

:) That said, I do wish there was a tool I could use to verify the cert authorities installed on a device I own or buy.

Hi HN, I built a small tool called I Wish There Was to help founders spot real product pain without spending hours reading forums.

I wish there was a simpler and quicker introduction into the tool's capabilities than an hour long video and a text article saying it's a swiss army knife that does a lot of things.

I really wish there was a tool where I can select the theme, which objects I need and it would spit out some half decently looking art.

Looking back, I just really wish there was a suite of terminal-tools for GUIs that are used by common people (like Gmail.com) to help me lose this fear as quickly as possible because it really is somewhat irrational to turn the terminal into some kind of boogeyman.

I wish there was a journeyman developer that could just take an hour or so to give me a tour of his alternative platform and show me what to focus on and what to ignore.
