ParaphraseI've recently made the switch to postgres, and then I found pgadmin3, and I'm really feeling some pain. For instance, the "explain query" visualization is great, and very helpful, but there's no way I can find to zoom out, at all . And that window doesn't support mouse scrolling. And there's no way to export the visualization somewhere else. So when I'm trying to figure out why a very, very large query is running slowly, it's agony to use pgadmin3. Do you know any good postgres query analysis tools?

ToDo list managers suck at attaching relevant information; wikis can't do reminders; bookmarks can't keep track of notes and thoughts; etc, and all the above are typically not crosslinked easily, and exporting data for backup/later…
So far, I've found a wiki to be almost the most flexible in keeping all manner of raw information kind of organised, but lacks useful features like reminders, and minimal tagging support, no easy way to keep track of finances, etc.

ParaphraseHe used his own custom URL, which is cleverer because he can take it with him, but not so clever because ... reason we are having this conversation now, you have to think this through! I've never used Bit.ly's hosted service, but he already said there's no way to export the data. So, hopefully clear there is some data, Bit.ly has a list of shared URLs from his customers, and they've populated a database with some short codes in order to redirect them. They are (correct me if I'm not understanding how this service works) the only ones in a position to know which short URLs are already used…
I've never used Bit.ly's hosted service, but he already said there's no way to export the data.

ParaphraseMicrosoft clearly understands that data-portability is becoming a major feature / factor in purchasing decisions. Google, on the other hand, keeps trimming portability - particularly with MSFT. I don't think so. It's super easy to export all of your data from Google, whereas there's no way to export your contacts from Office 365 Exchange, unless you use some external client.
